Actually, as our face come in contact with the environment, there bound to exposure to dust.
So imagine, as you do your touch up, you apply your make up from your palette to your face and than your sponge might pick up some environmental dust, goes back into the palette and perhaps contaminating the surface of your make up. The next round you use it on a clean face, you apply from the palette (contaminated) to your clean face.
That is also one of the reasons that there are some, who has more sensitive skin suffers from outbreak thereafter, even though there was proper cleansing.
Always wash your sponge regularly if you have to constantly do touch up and you might wanna gently wipe off the surface of the makeup before applying it to the clean face.
Alternatively, use a blotter or tissue to gently pat on your face before re-applying the makeup. This will somewhat helps to reduce the dust/oil/dirt that is on our face.
Lastly here is a nice song for sharing:
Enjoy and have a nice weekend ahead!
